'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Ethan Galbraith resumes battle with Manchester City.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he recalls the nail-biting final moments of his team's epic comeback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The game ended with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear amid the post-goal scrum.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a speculative effort from outside the box, and his teammate promptly converted the rebound before sprinting toward the East Stand to mark the goal, with the crowd congregating around the players.

Remarkable Recovery

This completed an incredible recovery given the team had trailed 2-0 midway through the latter period. Amid the delirium, there was some minor mishaps. Galbraith explained, "There was a fan shouting out and we were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're individuals, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The victory secured a fourth-round fixture at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, a club Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with the London side in February. The athletic midfielder had a prime vantage point when his former team took the lead in stunning style, with the attacker's first-time shot from about long distance going in via the woodwork and the City goalkeeper. Many argued that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've credited him for taking the effort on from that distance," commented Galbraith, who began the game centrally before moving to right flank after they changed formation. That meant getting to grips with the England international, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the attacker was among the City players who paid tribute to the way his former team played positively.

Guardiola's System

"Athletically they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and basic skills, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they always find their target and they know how to manage and neutralize a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then without warning they will just deliver a through ball through a line without you even seeing. You have to be focused throughout of the game. It demands a resilient mindset and attention just to remain competitive."

Swansea Move

The club sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to bring him in in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He became a favorite as a crowd pleaser across two seasons at his former club and has rapidly achieved similar status in his new home. At his previous team he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in senior football on loan at his loan club from United. Then came a loan at fourth-tier Salford City, before he permanently left his boyhood club.

Growth Journey

"I was probably a somewhat inexperienced going into senior level. I think numerous professionals would say youth team games is very different. Sometimes it appears possession is exchanged without serious challenge. There are limited hard challenges. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adapt rapidly."

National Team Success

He has shown that growth for his team and nation, excelling for his national side, who could still reach the international competition next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has been selected in the last several matches, including two matches games against the German national team. The ex-coach, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he handles the football and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Early Days

This represents quite the ride for the kid from the local area in his hometown, just outside Belfast, who used to see his father, the elder Galbraith, also a midfielder, play for a local club.

Red Devils Debut

Galbraith's single match for Manchester United came in the away trip in 2019, a Europa League trip to Astana, where they played on an artificial pitch and the stadium roof was shut owing to the weather of freezing cold. "That proved to be a lengthy journey and it was freezing," he recalls, smiling. "The preceding week, the academy prospects practiced as a group, so that assisted our preparation. Just to join the main group and make an appearance at the end was amazing."

Departing Old Trafford

How difficult was it to depart Manchester United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged 16? "It was relatively straightforward, because I got to the stage where I understood I wouldn't break through at the senior squad. I'm very appreciative for the experience gained but it got to the point where I believed I needed to go my own route, join a smaller club and play first-team games. Now I'm slowly progressing again."

Life in Swansea

This occurs during the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has somewhere to be at the early evening: a driving theory test, another step towards getting on the road. Before his recent move to the local area, the 24-year-old was a frequent passenger in Swansea's so-called player transport, a small coach driven by academy staff, the transport team, which transports players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"I travel with a teammate, another squad member, an Ivorian player – Melker Widell used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's enjoyable to interact with the guys but I'm aiming to be the following person to drive independently and on the road. His teammate enjoys practical jokes; he's frequently playing tricks."

Public Engagement

During his time at Leyton Orient, Galbraith would blend in with supporters on public transport after commuting at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
